Mandatory Marking of Auto Parts: Preparation for New Requirements from 2026

24.03.2026

What is to be changed

According to the draft resolution:

  • From 1 September 2026, mandatory registration of participants in the auto parts turnover in digital marking system ‘Chestny ZNAK’ will be introduced.
  • From 1 December 2026, the following is planned:
    • beginning of mandatory product marking
    • filing of information on the putting of goods into circulation
  • The requirements apply to certain categories of automotive components, including:
    • vehicle spare parts
    • components for equipment with internal combustion engines
    • components for self-propelled vehicles.
  • The experiment will continue until 31 August 2026, during which certain categories of goods (e.g., spark plugs, filters, glass) are already being marked.

Thus, as early as 2026, the auto parts market will transition to mandatory digital traceability.

How it will influence companies

  • Integration with ‘Chestny Znak’ becomes mandatory
  • ERP systems (primarily 1C) will need to be modified or configured to handle marking codes
  • Warehouse accounting, logistics, and document management processes become more complex
  • The risk of operational errors increases without automation (errors in marking codes, statuses, and disposals).

In practice, the main difficulties are not related to registration in the system, but to restructuring accounting processes and data exchange between systems (ERP, WMS, EDI, ‘Chestny Znak’).
