New Law on Preserving Business Assets and Reducing the Risk of Fraud

From 1 September 2024, a new law comes into force in Russia. Its purpose is to preserve business assets and reduce the risk of fraud involving false CEOs. The law introduces mandatory notarization of written decisions of shareholders of Russian limited liability companies on the change and prolongation of powers of the sole executive body. The involvement of a notary will ensure additional security for the procedures of appointment and prolongation of powers of directors in LLCs.
